I have to laugh at this picture, because this is the first year Braden actually got the concept of safely (usually!) running out to catch the candy and bring it back to put it in his bag. He would sprint up to the candy, barely be able to stop (as seen here), and bend over and pick up his candy. Too cute!

But before we knew it it was time for his race. Braden and I swam 1 lap of the pool together and Daddy was outside waiting for us!
Aaaaand this is what I mean by Braden being very emotional! I have to laugh at this picture, Braden was so upset he couldn't ride his bike yet, but the rules were to walk your bike out to the mounting area, and THEN you could ride it. Try explaining that to a 2 year old!
Braden can't use the pedals yet, so he just pushed it with his feet like he always does, he was the youngest by far at 2 years, 4 months and everyone (us too of course!) thought he was so cute! Then it was time for me and Braden to run and finish the race!
And...crossing the finish line!
I'm so proud of him. He even fell off his bike, cried for a bit, I asked him if he wanted to stop and he said "no, I ride my bike!" so he finished. Next year I'll be doing it. I'll be almost 8 months post-partum and it will be a great motivator to get back into shape! Braden will be at a much better age to do it too! (P.S. Wow, I sure got puffy in the face a lot earlier in this pregnancy!!!)
This is so awesome! Way to go B! What a great experience.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to do this with him every year, he just loved it!

DeleteGood job little man! You look fantastic, Sarah :)
ReplyDeleteOh thanks, Katie...I feel good too, trying really hard not to focus on what the scale says, but it's harder to actually do, as ashamed as I am to admit it.
DeleteI love town community days! Looks like a good time. I looked at these pictures & thought "OMG his legs!" I forgot about the HFM! Poor guy. Glad he is healing up.
ReplyDeleteOh it was such a good time, he behaved so well this year....last year he tried to join the parade and run away, but this year he "got it". And yes...people look at his legs like he's a leper all the time :(
