Cousin Lovin'

This long weekend has been great so far! Ben, Jess, and Abby made their first road trip together to come see us for the weekend. They spent 2 nights and Abby did wonderful! She slept the whole car ride here and back home. Braden wouldn't stop talking about Baby Abby coming to visit, and he absolutely adored her!





He oh, so gently crawled in next to her, pointed up at the musical star, tried to give her toys, read her the books on the play gym. Heart officially melted. And then he disappeared to return to me like this:

We have been soother-free for over 3 months, he hasn't even mentioned it at all, but we gave Abby a few of his newborn soothers to use and he found them!

Then this was the look I got when I told him to give it back to baby Abby and that he doesn't use one anymore!

I tell ya...these kids are just amazing! Then we went over to the farm for a bit to celebrate Marchella's 5th birthday, so Braden got to see all EIGHT of his cousins in one day!






Sometimes Braden gets sick of being around a lot of people and would rather spend time with the tractors!




A great weekend spent with the cousins! Also, a little potty training update - for the last 2 days Braden has told us "go pee potty" and has not had one accident! He was very happy and proud to show Uncle Ben that he could pee on the potty, wash his hands with his Elmo soap, and get a potty treat. I could not be a more proud mama of how well Braden has adapted to potty training!

Abigail Meets GG

For the 3rd weekend in a row, Braden and I headed out on the road to Mom's house. This time Jay was able to join us for one last before-seeding trip so we could visit with Ben, Jess, & Abby. Actually, Uncle Steve was there too so it was really nice to see all of Mom's family.

Abigail is 11 days old already. So alert when awake and content and calm...just like her cousin was!

They're already teasing me, Abby. Saying "oh look, Abby! There's the clicky one! Your crazy aunt who takes pictures of everything!" But you know what? That's okay...because someone's gotta do it and I know they really do love the pictures!

She sure likes tummy time better than Braden did at that age!

And then we went over to meet GG...

Many more visits to come! It was very special to be able to be there when Grandma met Abby. Braden and I are headed back again next weekend for another visit! Just love being able to spend all this time with them, especially when newborns change so much! She's already filled out and grown so much!

Introducing Abigail

I tell you, if I wasn't already pregnant, I would be sitting here right now probably a little depressed that I wouldn't be (soon enough!) experiencing the joy of my own newborn again! And I also particularly thought I would never want to be a girl mom. I am such a boy mom, and I know my boy mom friends know exactly what I mean. I love little girls...but I feel like I wouldn't know what to "do" with one of them. I'm all about trains, tractors, and trucks right now! But having spent a full day and night with this little sweetheart, has me totally craving a girl!

My brother and his wife are doing really well as new parents. Since Jess had to have a section, my brother has stepped up to the plate and beyond with Abby. He changes her diapers, she is in cloth - by the way!, he was keen on taking notes and asking me lots of questions, I showed him how to give her a bath and how to wash her diapers. Jess is doing wonderfully learning how to breastfeed and pump, and I'm so proud of them both.

Since a newborn mommy is so tired, babies always seem to have their days and nights mixed up, the last thing on Jess' mind is busting out her camera to take pictures. I know she wants to, but I was a happy Auntie to step in and help. May I introduce to you, this perfect little dolly babe, Abigail!

My brother loves Star Wars, just a little bit a lot! A gift from me for Christmas!
