My 8 Week Old... SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!

It's just absolutely amazing! Braden has been sleeping good for about 1.5 weeks now. Usually he'd sleep good for 3 or 4 days and then have a day or two where he'd only sleep 2 hours max and eat, eat, eat! I've had friends tell me that once you get through the first 6 weeks, it gets much easier after that. Well, for us it sure has been true! As soon as he got into his 6th week he started sleeping much better. Then as I stated in my previous post he's had a couple of 7 hour sleeps...and now, my friends...my little boy has slept exactly 9 hours as of right now and he's still sleeping. I put him down at 10:45 after reading him his first story Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, and he has officially slept through the night for the first time. Me, as a bit of a worried mama, as I suspect we all are the first few times this happens!, got up once to check on him and got Jay to check on him an hour ago when he let the dog out. Braden has mastered the art of finding his thumb and it's the most adorable thing ever! I'm still not holding my breath, I know that at his age things are still pretty unpredictable, but I'm still celebrating this incredible milestone!

We had a wonderful day in the city yesterday. It was too cold for Jay to do anything over at the house, so we picked up some lunch on the way through Strathmore, and went to Chinook mall, shopped a bit and then went to a "Stars and Strollers" movie at the theatre! It was so cool! I knew about these movies before I had Braden, but it's such a wonderful thing to have for moms and dads out there. It was almost like a drive-in movie, but for babies. We walked into the theatre and there were strollers parked up the walkway and across the front of the room! There were probably about 15 people or so and the babies were remarkably well behaved! We saw The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. Not a great "first movie" for Braden, but it was just so nice to be able to get out and see a movie, with him! He just ate, slept, and then ate again. So nice to have that option out there, I hope we can do it once a month or so, that would be a nice treat!

  1. All I have to say is NOT FAIR!!! And I may now begin to hate you... although you make that fairly difficult.
