My Inconsistent Sleeper!

Oh, Braden James! How I wish I could figure you and your weird sleeping patterns! He did so awesome on our weekend away and STTN for 3 in a row as I have mentioned, but he's been getting worse and worse and worse all week! First he'd get a 6 hour stretch in and then only sleep 2 hours at a time, and that first stretch has been decreasing all week until we hit sleeping for only 3 hours at a time last night! I swear he's not going through a growth spurt, as I'm sure many of you might be thinking...when he does that he usually eats every 2 hours day/night but he's only been doing it at night. I remember posting how excited I was that he slept 3 hour stretches when he was 2 weeks old when we were visiting at Mom and Dad's! He's regressed to his 2 week old sleeping habits. Yeesh, child! He's also decided he really doesn't like to nap either. This whole week it's been a struggle to get him to sleep 45 minutes during the day, nevermind anything longer than that. Finally today he's doing much better and is down for a 2+ hour nap as I write this. I have been trying to not let him develop bad sleep habits, and for awhile there he wanted a huge hoorah of a production to nap with the rocking, cuddling, and singing. It sure was cute for a few days, but it really wears on a person to do a 30 minute production only to get 45 minutes of nap time out of him. So this week I said - enough! And at least he is back to sleeping on his own and sucking his thumb. Hmmphhh!

A little update on my old friend, Jen, situation. It is so not going to happen. I was proceeding cautiously, and it's all come flooding back to my as to why we aren't friends anymore. She wrote me back and told me the reason why our friendship ended was that she couldn't trust me anymore, because the guy she was dating at the time and her had broken up and I had the ''nerve'' to ask if I could still be friends with this guy, as we were friends and worked together long before they ever started dating. Well, according to her this was a big no-no and consequently lead to her not being able to trust me and thus not being friends anymore. The big kicker is, is that she had remained friends with her ex-boyfriend when dating that guy and apparently that was okay. I don't have time in my life to try and make amends with someone like this. So I wrote her back and told her I was sorry that what I did upset her, but the reason why I asked her was so that she would trust me, and that I wasn't friends with him behind her back. Not good enough, apparently. I felt like I had to stand up for Sarah 4 years ago and I also told her that I still don't think what I did was wrong, but agreed with her suggestion that maybe we could meet up one day and catch up on things. She wrote me back a one sentence email: Take care, Sarah. So I guess that is that. I know one can never have too many friends, but in the words of my wise husband: she's crazy!

  1. Cuckoo for Cocoa puffs!! Geeze! Let it GO already Jen!

  2. Yikes! Are we still in high school?

  3. Yes, apparently, Jess! Which is why I will NOT being attending my 10 year reunion next year. I only keep in touch with Natalie from our grad class and that is more than good enough for me! Hmmmph!

  4. You have a very smart husband! haha.
