16 Weeks

Plus 4 days if we're getting really specific! I am so not as anal about keeping track of things as I was with my first pregnancy. It's amazing what chasing and potting training a toddler will do for your organizational skills, or lack thereof! Last time I had to take my picture every other week exactly on the day that I turned it. Never a day later or earlier. This was taken yesterday at 16w3d. Still 16 weeks, right?
16 Weeks Pregnant
I think that I ate the bag of chips, over 3 nights mind you, because I thought "if I'm going to gain weight, I might as well enjoy it dammit!" I've been good about not going crazy and caving into all of my cravings, but I'm nowhere near as strict with myself as I was when I was pregnant with Braden. Good? Bad? Who cares! I'm feeling great, think I look pretty darn good too. Round ligament pain has started, mostly on the left side. I do have to remind myself to eat or I still get a bit nauseous and feel gross. There is 100% no hiding the belly anymore....aaaaand I almost have an outie already, especially in the evenings!

I can't even say this pregnancy is "flying by". It's going at a nice pace. Not too fast, not too slow - just right. I'll regret saying this later, but I need the belly to be just a liiiiiiiiittle bit bigger, because my regular t-shirts are too short, but the maternity ones I swim in.

Here's comparison from last time, this was actually about 17 weeks, I'm so much bigger this time, same dress!
17 Weeks
And my 16 week bare belly last time:
16 Weeks
And this time:
Being brave and telling myself that I still look and feel great even if the scale tells me I've gained 9.9 lbs in 15.5 weeks! (I only gained 9 lbs in 20 weeks last time) #pregnancy #16weeks1day
I love being pregnant. I really do. Don't hate me for it! It's such a true blessing.

I also wanted to mention to head on over to my friend Melissa's blog The Mommyhood Chronicles for your chance to win a Britax car seat! These are the ONLY car seats we use for Braden and we LOVE them. We'll be buying more in about a year or so, I'd love to win another!

  1. You look amazing. I wish I could say I loved being pregnant. I was sick for 6 months when I was pregnant with Natalie and with the twins i was so sore I couldn't stand for more than 20 minutes at a time. I also love the Britax car seats, everyone thought I was crazy to buy car seats that were $380 each but nothing is more important to me then my children's safety!!!

    1. Oh thanks so much. Luckily I haven't got "sick" sick, just nausea. I don't know if I could handle being physically ill for it...I'd never get pregnant again! I don't think we can put a price on children's safety, I 100% agree. Plus, Britax seems so comfortable, Braden never slouches forward like I've seen kids in other brands do.

  3. I love your recap picture -- such a cute idea how you are putting the stats right in the picture -- neat to look back after time. Including B makes it ever better!

  7. Love the bump and that maternity dress! I never had a chance to wear cute dresses since I was always big pregnant during the fall and winter months. I am so jealous that B potty trained so quickly! Go go mama! What's your secret? I've been following all your posts. I'm not sure what we are doing wrong over here but X is just not interested. He can do it just doesn't want to do it!

    1. Yeah it's the one bonus of being "big" pregnant in the summer - much more comfy clothes. I will be my biggest in the early fall, so hopefully we get nice weather for that! I'm definitely going to be doing a follow-up PT post, so maybe something in there will help?? I dunno, it can be so frustrating I know!
