Obsessing over: Nothing, really. How boring. Maybe I should be...I feel like I'm too lazy to be obsessed. Maybe I'm obsessed that I am DONE WORK AND GOING ON MATERNITY LEAVE AS OF WEDNESDAY MORNING. Mayyyyybe obsessed. Just a little bit! And I have also started networking in the blogosphere a bit more and have started writing to some companies I'd love to work with by just introducting myself.
Off too church! "My hair has spikeys!"
Working on: A mini blog makeover. One step at a time. First I did my header, then found a new background from this awesome website for free. I was considering hiring someone to do it...but then I decided that for now I'm too cheap and know too many blog designers and couldn't pick just one! I'm also working on getting up the courage to really start planning for this baby...

Thinking about: My dad. A lot. How can I not. I did want to clarifiy to you, that there is truly no anger or resentment towards him. I am sad. Very very sad for him and just frustrated by his actions. Sadly, the situation has only gotten worse and I continue to pray for him every day. On a happier note, I'm also thinking about one of my best friends from back home having her 2nd baby within a couple of weeks!

Anticipating: The start of harvest. Jay started tonight a bit but they'll get swathing tomorrow morning. I guess once we get through harvest then it will be on the home stretch to baby! I am very happy with the pace of this pregnancy...not in a hurry to be done....but not seeming like it's taking forever either!
So it begins! @WheatlanderJay #harvest12
Listening to: The Lorax. Seriously...the movie, the soundtrack. All.the.time. We all love it, really! The Movie and music are fantastic, and Ed Helms was phenomenal. I'm really not into music anymore. It used to be my "life" in high school and early university...but now I'm just too busy and/or could care less...

Eating: Ha! A great question for a pregnant lady! I having been baking up a storm. Jay just asked me if I had "reached my prime" a little early...meaning that since harvest is coming desserts will be a plenty! I've been really enjoying all the fresh veggies from our garden, and since my mother-in-law was on vacation this week, she asked me to go pick some raspberries and it just so happened there were exactly 2 cups that I picked...so I made these raspberry cream cookies I found off Pinterest and they were deeeeelish. Also, I really don't care what I eat anymore. I think that my little calorie burner is helping me out in there!
What's that, raspberry cream cookie drizzled with icing? You want me to eat you and all your friends? If you say so! #Pinterest
Wishing: That Braden would get out of this funk that he is in. He actually had a really good day today, but lately he's been way more whiney & irritable lately. No new molars (he still needs 3) and he's not sick anymore, so I'm thinking that he's going through a major growth spurt. He's had 2 hour naps this week - which has been awesome! He hasn't napped for months! He has also been sleeping really great at night....but sometimes has woke up screaming, not for long, but still. So I wonder if he's having nightmares or if he's having some growing pains.  He's been extra cuddly and sucky lately...which isn't bad for me!
B has a fever 38.2. I knew something was wrong when he didn't want to play outside today. Felt hot this AM, no fever, now he's burning up

  3. You're doing GREAT! You make me feel like a lazy schlump! (mind you most people can do that), but really. Focus on the blessings and we'll just keep on hoping and praying that Dad sees some light and gets some much needed help. As angry as I am for what he has done to my "kids", I am incredibly sad for what he has done to himself.

    1. Oh thanks...you're not lazy...at the end of the day when I look at what I've accomplished, I see I'm truly not lazy, but sometimes it just feels like it! I am definitely focusing on the good and just praying that we can put all this bad stuff in the past and will see a positive change in him soon. It's just so sad, as we both know...

  4. My kids have been sleeping weird lately too, not soundly at night & extra tired at nap. I keep blaming it on the weather/change of seasons.

I wish I had YOUR maternity leave!! Damn USA. How exactly is your system set up??

    1. Yeah the growth spurt is the only excuse I can think of. His 18-24 month pants are looking short on him and they never did before!

So, for my maternity leave...I'm going off early for harvest as when Jay is in the field I have no childcare. I will be unpaid for 10 weeks, until I have baby. I believe we get 50 weeks of paid leave, 'x' amount is maternity leave and the rest is filled with parental leave. It's awful I don't know the ins and outs of it...but I do know how to apply for it and get paid and that's all that matters. You just have to work 600 hours since your last claim and/or in the last year before you go off and the max out for all Canadians is $1600/month which I should get!

    2. So as long as you worked 600 hours since your last claim... you get 50 weeks of paid leave?? Full pay? Your pay? Or a set rate?

I got 12 weeks off.... NONE paid. None! My income was just from my vacation time. And if I take more than 12 weeks, I'm not guarnteed my job back.

I'm so beyond disgusted with women's healthcare rights in the US right now. Maybe I'll come have my next baby in Canada!

    3. It's 600 hours in the last claim if you come back early and are pregnant right away...if that makes sense, OR 600 hours in the last year.

I did more research and it's actually 17 weeks of maternity leave and then the remaining 35 weeks to make up a full 52 weeks (year) of parental leave which you or your spouse can claim. The government maxes out at $1600/month so that all Albertans, no matter what your wage is, gets maxed out the same, so it's not a percentage of your wage. We get paid out through EI (employment insurance). It's a pretty amazing system, we are very blessed! If you move, move to Norway - they get 2 years!!!

  6. I'm loving the new header. Good luck with your redesign. Ah toddlers...they are so unpredictable huh? I'm soooo excited for you about the start of your maternity leave. And a bit jealous of mat leave in Canada vs US. Maybe we should move for baby #3. Ha!
