Matthew & Andrea's Wedding

One of Jay's best friends got married last Saturday, so we took a break from harvest and headed to Lethbridge. Instead of chitty chattering...and since I have a TON of pictures, I'll mostly let the pics speak for themselves!

Matthew & Andrea's Wedding
It was a beautiful day for Matt & Andrea, I loved the simplicity of their wedding - they didn't need all the "big & fancy" things because they had their love and that radiated through the day. They strayed away from a buffet meal, which this pregnant guest REALLY appreciated too! It was a long day of sitting/standing for me...but I had a wonderful time and was so happy to be a part of their celebration!

It was a lot easier taking pictures in a low-lit reception hall...but there's still a TON I need to learn with my new camera. Overall, I had a lot of fun playing with it!

Review: Séraphine Maternity

I have seen the wonderful clothing of Séraphine Maternity being modeled by a lot of my favorite pregnant bloggers over the last year or so. How I coveted to be wearing their beautiful clothing too, especially since I was expecting! Then, as luck would have it I won a store credit from one of my favorite blogs. I was so thrilled, as we had a wedding just this last weekend and I wanted something new, but also didn't really want to fork over the money to do so!
Seraphine Dress
I ended up choosing this beautiful and sexy in a sophisticated way, two-tone cocktail dress from Séraphine and I am in LOVE! I thought it was perfect for a fall wedding, and though I also loved this black shift dress too, but the two maternity/nursing dresses I already own are all black so I wanted to stray away from all black.

So my review on the dress? GIVE ME MORE! If I had unlimited funds and more than 6 weeks left in my pregnancy, I would fill my wardrobe with Séraphine clothing! Having said that, this dress is worth EVERY penny. This dress was made from 92% viscose 8% Elasthanne material, but to non-fashionista me...it felt like a really nice jersey material, which is every pregnant mama's go-to material in my books! It was SO comfortable. I have worn some empire shirts/dresses in the past where the elastic under the breast eventually suffocates you, but their clothing is so well made that I wasn't uncomfortable at all. I loved how the ruching of the dress hugged and defined my bump...and also made my bum look nice too! There's nothing I can't stand more than that tented feeling where dresses fall over your bump! It makes me feel like I'm wearing a moo moo, so not sexy at all! Also because of the ruching, this dress fell perfectly above my knees and wasn't too short in the front like a lot of maternity dresses are. The v-neck was deeper than I thought, but it was a classy neckline that didn't show off too much cleavage - it was just the right amount! I got a ton of compliments on this dress at the wedding and I really hope that I can wear it again sometime! Heck, maybe I'll wear it grocery shopping today!

A little birdie told me that I might have some exciting news to share with you in a couple of weeks...more to do with Séraphine! Keep coming back to check but for now, you can follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

5 Years Married!

5 Year Anniversary
Today we celebrated 5 years of marriage! We actually got to celebrate the exact same place we got married, as we were at a wedding at the hall where we had our reception. We did an early celebration in March when we went to Vegas.

In 5 years we have...
  • sold our condos
  • added a puppy to our family
  • welcomed our first, beautiful boy into our family
  • built a house
  • adopted another cat
  • 3 trips to Vegas
  • 3 trips to Maui
  • 1 trip to Thailand
  • 23 weeks pregnant with our second baby
Wow! That is a LOT done in 5 years. I cannot wait to see what the next 5 years bring...and the next 5 after that, etc., etc!

I love that we started our family 5 years ago and it's getting bigger and bigger. I wouldn't rather have a family with anyone else...I love you, Jay!

Congrats on a beautiful wedding. They are in Africa right now on their one month honeymoon. I hate them a little bit. That's our dream destination!!
