Olympic Gold!

What a golden day for Canada yesterday and the end of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Jay, Braden, and I didn't do anything fancy or go anywhere special, but we did watch the gold medal men's hockey game - Canada vs. USA. They were saying that people were offering $3000 per ticket to be in the lower bowl and about $1700 per ticket to be in the upper bowl at the game and that fans were lined up for 2 hours to get into bars to celebrate with fellow Canadians and hockey fans alike. I was told Jay I wondered why CTV didn't have a live feed from the Schultz household?? :)

It sure was a nailbiter when the States tied it up with under 30 seconds left in the game, and quite honestly, I didn't know if Canada could pull off a win in OT. I thought there was too much pressure on them to win the gold and also to set the Olympic record for most gold medals won by a country in the Olympics. But...

They did win from a beautiful goal by Canada's "golden boy" Sidney Crosby!

Team Canada - Olympic Gold Medalists

As I mentioned before, Team Canada's win yesterday also gave Canada their 14th gold medal at the 2010 games which set a new Olympic record. We may not have "owned the podium", but we sure owned the top spot! The total 26 medals won is also 2 more medals than our country won in Turin. I enjoyed watching these Olympics so much, you could tell patriotism was oozing out of everyone!

We also watched the closing ceremonies (which were very entertaining!) and were very happy to see this man singing on a giant mounty hat!

Love, love, LOVE Michael Buble!! Can't wait for Sochi 2014! GO CANADA GO!
