Happy Birthday, Luke!

One of my favorite little guys turns 3 today! We celebrated Luke's birthday on Saturday, at our house actually! Laura was going to have it at their place, but the new house isn't quite done and long story short 20 some people fit much better in our house than their trailer! Laura asked me awhile back if I would make Luke a lion birthday cake so I of course said yes. I tried to find a lion cake pan...but couldn't get one in time so I thought I'd get creative and try something totally new! Here's what it turned out as...

It is two 9" round pans and I made the muzzle from extra cake I had from leveling the cakes. I frosted it with buttercream icing and then covered it with fondant and decorated with fondant and buttercream.

Happy Birthday, to you!

 

Every bite Luke would say "mmmm!!! MMMMMM!!!!" So it sounded good to me! I also warned all the parents that this cake is essentially pure sugar!
