Landscaping

Whenever Jay has had spare time he brings the bucket tractor and/or skid steer over here to do landscaping. If you remember correctly, we had 3 huge dirt piles in our yard from our excavation. Looked a little like this:

And now it looks like this!

Still the one dirt pile on the other side of the driveway, but the 2 big ones are GONE! Jay made a little turn-around part where the biggest dirt pile was so it'll be easier for people to turn around and get out of our driveway.

This is the other dirt pile, being spread by the walk-out to level it out.



And Jay built this up awhile ago and will start working on the retaining wall soon. This is where there will be stairs off the deck to the ground.

Jay actually rototilled and seeded grass yesterday and we had a massive thunder/lighting storm and a bit of rain, so it worked out pretty good! He spread a big load of gravel on our driveway and he's also started building the retaining wall for the flower/shrub bed below the bedrooms at the back of the house. I got a valance for our bedroom windows and it totally completes the room now! I'm adjusting some pictures in the great room, ordered more from Shutterfly and then that will be done for awhile. Feels good to be getting stuff done - thanks, Jay!

Next up is re-staining the deck (only got one coat last year) and continuing on with landscaping....maybe even plant some trees/shrubs!
