Why are we waiting for November?
So Braden can become a big brother!
Yay! I've been just itching to tell everyone, but the old fashioned gal in me wanted to wait for the comfort of getting to the 2nd trimester like we did last time...except...I'm showing already. Like, last week, definitely looking pregnant, showing! So today I am 9 weeks. Last time I told family and friends at 12 weeks and let everyone else just kind of find out. I announced it on Facebook at 17 weeks.
This time around I was so happy to be able to tell my mom right away. I tested really early and found out February 17th, only about 3 weeks along! Jay had a hockey game that night so I took pictures of my test and texted them to my eBFF Marie. She was thrilled for me and I was so excited to have someone to share the news with! I put this cute shirt on Braden in the morning and that's how I told Jay and Braden at the same time and there were hugs and kisses all around!
We told Jay's parents a couple of weeks later and then I've told all the people I told early last time. I've definitely felt a lot different with this pregnancy.
- more easily nauseous, but not getting sick (praise God)
- showing early
- breaking out
- having to shave more often (too much? Sorry, my blog!)
I know Dory calls Squishy a "him" but I could be wrong...! Even though I wasn't with Braden. I knew Braden was a boy from this early on last time too and I was right. So I guess we'll see. We'll be Team Green again and won't find out the sex at the anatomy scan at 19ish weeks! It's just more fun that way!
Instead of doing my biweekly belly pictures like I did last time, I've decided to do a Pinterest inspired monthly picture and then just do weekly cell phone pictures. Sorry, Squishy...you already have second pregnancy/second child syndrome. I care about you just as much but just already admit I don't have the energy to keep up with as much as I did with Braden!
And see, I'm already 9 weeks, did my 8 week picture...and haven't had time to edit it yet! I will get that one up here soon enough! And this is what I mean about showing early, this is me last week in Vegas, right at 8 weeks!
Well, that's about all for now! I'm so happy I am able to share this with you all!
So so sooooo excited for you!!!!! I have been waiting for this big announcement, I knew you mentioned you were going to try, but I wasn't sure when! Congratulations!! Ps- my pregnancy with Grayson was complete opposite for Gavin I thought FOR SURE he was a girl and well, clearly he is not, lol!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks, Amanda! But you didn't even know you were pregnant with Gavin until 18 weeks...does that count? ;) I guess only time will tell, I still have girl vibes, even before the symptoms started!
DeleteCongrats! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteHow exciting!!! A huge congrats!
ReplyDeleteYes it is, thank you!
DeleteSooooooooooooooooooooooo exciting! Congratulations! I had a feeling you were holding something back! :) I'll be praying for a happy healthy pregnancy for you and squishy!
ReplyDeleteIt was really hard to hold it back! I wasn't on Twitter and didn't start my blog until I was well into my pregnancy! I didn't have all this social media to share it with last time! Thanks for your prayers and well wishes!
DeleteYAY!!! congratulations! EVERYONE is pregnant now.....making me get da feva :)
ReplyDeleteI already have a "joining the club" post started on how many bloggers are pregnant right now! My little SIL was due yesterday, we're eagerly awaiting news from them!
Deleteand p.s. pregnant in vegas? that's like the motherload of culinary deliciousness.
ReplyDeleteAmen, sister! Who needs booze when you have FOOD!♠
Deletewoo hoo!!!!!!!! So happy for you guys!!! And ditto Ashley, I want another baby like yesterday!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I've had the fever for awhile, and hopefully in the next week I'll have another little newborn to snuggle with, my brother and his wife were due yesterday!
DeleteCongrats! In your first vegas night out pic I was like, she's got a bump going on! Glad I wasn't imagining things :)
ReplyDeleteHehe! I (obviously) noted that too, but didn't think it was *that* noticeable! Good eyes! hehe
DeleteSARAH!!!!! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited for you!! November is a fabulous birthday month too (mine is the 5th)..and October is awesome too! YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelley! If Squishy follows in big brother's footsteps s/he'll be overdue too so you never know!! I'm just secretly praying for a non-Halloween baby as that's my oldest niece's birthday!
DeleteMaybe you've got a Squishy AND a Squirt in there!! ;)
ReplyDeleteTake it back! ;)
DeleteBev that would be so bad! Because if it was they'd probably show up early in the middle of harvest!!!
DeleteCongrats!!! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteYes! Thanks so much!
Deletecongrats!! :)
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh, congrats!! Um, I totally teared up.....geeze! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww shucks! Thanks!
DeleteYay, congratulations officially :) So excited for you, sweetie! I'd consider being team green sometime, but my hubby couldn't stand not knowing. Ha! Will you do a gender neutral nursery or wait until squishy is born to do some of the decorating?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie! Team Green just works for us...plus I know too many people who have been told the WRONG gender on their anatomy scan not to find out but a few weeks before the baby was born! Oops! We are keeping the will-be-nursery it's current color, a tannish-beige and then accent it with girl or boy colors and the theme will be owls!
DeleteYay!!!! I'm so so happy for you!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristin! I'm so happy to join the club!
DeleteYou are adorable! Love the photos! SO EXCITING! CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS! November 1 was G's actual due date, but she was late and came on the 4th! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteNo way. My son's name is Brayden and I am announcing our second pregnancy TOMORROW on our blog. Our second's due date is November 7th! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's just insane! What a coincidence! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteCongrats!!! I'm 13 weeks and it is def. different this time around. I'm nauseous but not puking, I'm always hungry, that kind of thing. I also still haven't started my monthly belly pictures. I'll get to it... eventually. It's just harder this time being pregnant AND chasing a toddler around haha.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just realized that once again we're gonna have ours about a month apart too just like Braden and Tristan. I'm due October 6th hahaha. Crazy!
Good luck!
CRAZY!! I just wanted to let you know; not only are our boys a week apart - our seconds will also be a week apart but that's not all - we BOTH got a positive on the SAME day!!
ReplyDeleteBIG Congratulations!!
