My First Garden

My very first garden! Jay rototilled me a garden last fall and then did it again this spring and had it all fertilized ready for me to plant. Since the guys were back out seeding on Tuesday, I decided it was a great day to seed too! (This picture is actually BEFORE I planted!)

Braden really loved being outside and he stuck close by for almost an hour...then got bored and decided to go up to the house.

Don't mind our patchy grass, it's coming slowly but surely!
Garden 2012
This year I planted corn, peas, carrots, green beans, romaine lettuce, red potatoes, & some parsley! We will soon have a tomato plant inside...but I think our weather is too fussy, and so are tomatoes, I'd kill them if they lived outside!

Braden actually had his first nap, all on his own that day, so when he was asleep, I took the monitor outside with me, finished up my planting, came in and had a shower all before he woke up super happy! It was such a great day. And as one of my IG friends pointed out, not but 3 days earlier we had a snow storm. Now we were outside in shorts and I even got some color on my shoulders & arms when I was wearing my tank top. Thanks for the great weather, Alberta!

  2. Lol my deal with Craig is I will sow if he will reap:) I don't think it'll be too hard for me to plant but with a newborn there will be no harvesting for me.

  4. I'm so jealous, I absolutely love gardening and don't get to do it in my condo. I miss our house in Beau - we had an awesome garden! But I did find an idea on Pinterest that involves a pallet and potted plants, which I am hoping to get to.
