Finally! A Day With Trains!

I get the paper. I get 2 of them, in fact. Every week. Do I read them? Rarely...usually I just flip through them. Good thing I have people looking out for me! My mother-in-law called me the other day to tell me that this town was having Train Day for Father's Day weekend. I figured I owed Braden a good day with trains from our botched Day With Thomas last month. So I woke up from a short 3.5 hour nap after my 12 hour night shift and we drove the 1 hour south to go and see these trains.

They had this awesome little train for the kids to ride on and Braden was ecstatic...to say the least!

And a bouncy house!

There was also a big train car there and he just ran right up to it and helped himself!

'Nuff said, hey!?

Then we got to go on our train ride.

Then this happened...and we got out of there right before the rain started! HA! Take that, Weather!

It was so worth the 2 hour round trip, Braden had such a wonderful time and was telling me "I ride on little train! I go on big train! Jump in house!" And here's our Father's Day pictures from Sunday....plus the outtakes of trying to get Braden to keep his darn hands out of his mouth!!

Hope you had a wonderful Father's Day weekend! I, for one, appreciate my Heavenly Father more than ever this year!

Father's Day

Father's Day Walk 2011

We spent the day outdoors in support of prostate cancer. Not terribly impressed to be trapped in the stroller!

The theme was super heros and everyone got a cape, we put "My hero is Uncle Steve" on one and make Kihei wear it.

He really enjoyed the freedom before the walk got going and ran around in the rain. (Good thing I didn't pack away his fleece-lined pants just yet!)

Then these pics were taken in the evening, we let Braden wear the cape, he wasn't sure at first, then he didn't care.
Super Braden!

Super Braden!
This is Braden doing "oh no!"
Super Braden!
Happy belated Father's Day to all the dads reading this! Jay, you amaze me every day at what an amazing father you are to our son. Braden and I love you very much!

Happy Father's Day!

To my Daddy & Grandpas!
Love, Braden

And now that I have time to elaborate... Jay, you are a wonderful father to our son. I always knew you'd be an amazing dad, seeing how great you are with our nieces and nephew...but the way you are with Braden, makes me so proud! You've never flinched at changing a diaper, giving him a bottle for the very first time without ANY help from a very tired me, getting him to burp, cleaning up spit ups, getting him up in the mornings when I'm so tired sometimes, and just picking him up to give him a snuggle and spend time with him.Giving Braden his baths is your special time with him, and not a lot of guys would feel comfortable giving a 2 day old baby a bath...but you never even gave it a thought and you've been keeping at it ever since! Here's some of my favorite Dad pictures...
We are so blessed to have you...we love you so much!
