Nurse Loves Farmer: Fail

So this week's topic from Growing Up Geeky's Toddle Along Tuesday blog hop is fail.

It can be a post about a Mommy fail, pregnancy brain, or just something dumb you've done in general :)

Ummm...so? Where do I begin. So many to choose from! I think I'll share a funny fail from back in the day. Back when I was dating Jay, living in Edmonton, and was a newly graduated RN...and really quite blonde!

I never get sick. I'm a nurse. I have a super-powered immune system. Bugs have to fight knights and slay dragons to infect me. But as I was fully submerged working full-time around germs, germs, germs, ~~I wasn't feeling well~~ I finally got sick. One of those respiratory bugs that leaves you with a dry cough for months and months. Before I made an appointment with my family doc, I thought I'd try to medicate with cough syrup. That's what it's for right? To suppress coughs and what not?

Question: Have you ever gone to the pharmacy to pick out a cough syrup?

Why are there so many??? Oh the different colors, the sizes, the brands! So I enlisted the advice of the trusty pharmacist. I think he recommended some Robitussin, so I bought it and was on my way back home. Before I go any further, I should mention that this was a late night trip to a 24 hour pharmacy after a few drinky poos at the bar (how sick could I have been, really?).

Ok, then...now to the fail part of the post. So I get into the back of my friends vehicle and carefully and responsibly read the instructions of this medicine. I get to the "do not take if" portion of the label and come to...

"Do not take if nursing."

Moment of panic! Fear! I CAN'T TAKE THIS! I'M IN NURSING!!!

Then.............curiosity......then finally head slap. Yes, folks. I had that thought. In a little bit of a drunken haze, I literally thought that label was for nurses not nursing mothers. I'm pretty sure that under "blonde moment" in the dictionary, is this picture:
