A Little Taste of Ethan

Ethan Thomas
I am very excited to work on Ethan's birth story, but I'm waiting for pictures from my dear friend Sam of my labor & delivery experience to share with the story! But for now...a little taste of Ethan who made his early arrival born at 37 weeks 4 days gestation on October 16, 2012 and is 100% perfect & healthy...
Big Brother Kisses
Big Brother Braden is adjusting well. He unfortunately has a bit of a head cold and was a little "off" to begin with...but he loves his Baby Brother "Efan" :)
Our First Family of Four Picture!
Mommy and Ethan spent one night in the hospital together while Daddy was home with Braden. The older boys came to get us the next morning and I couldn't get out of there fast enough!

We're Home!
He weighed 5 lbs 15 oz on discharge home...what a little peanut! I just love every single ounce and more. Mommy was so shocked by his early arrival we didn't even have the car seat installed or the car seat liner or cover! It was on my "to do" list this week - oops!
First Nap in Cradle
He's napping and sleeping really well in his cradle...

He's been an absolute joy and delight to have in the family, we're so happy that he's here...even though we were so not expecting it!

Thank you all for your well wishes on Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter! I can't begin to even try to thank you all individually!

Also, here's the results of our baby pool! No one was even close...but my friend Keri won!

Everything Baby Month at Sears! #SearsBabysRoom

Oh baby, oh baby, oh baby! Am I ever excited to be an ambassador for The Baby's Room at Sears, and to show you all the wonderful things about this brand new department! With the early arrival of our new baby boy, the timing could not have been more perfect for Sears to be introducing their new department The Baby's Room.

I actually went into the city with my husband on Monday and took a tour of the new department. The store and new department looked phenomenal and has absolutely everything a mom could want shopping for her baby in one place. I am so happy that Sears has this department now!

My favorite part was how open and airy the department is. It's designed very well and sectioned off into travel, nursery, feeding, etc. which makes it very easy to find items. Speaking of items, there were plenty to choose from and it was nice to have the variety and not just one or two brands.
What surprised me the most was the huge selection of children's clothing! Everything was so cute and the products are very well made. I will definitely be going back to buy Ethan some new clothes. Everything was really well labelled and organized according to size which was an awesome feature.
I loved the nursery displays with the room decor. There were framed "plaques" on the wall of the nursery clearly labeling the prices of all the furniture and the sale prices which was awesome, it's nice to see mini displays of how the nursery furniture would fit together at home.
It also happens to be the "Everything Baby" sales event happening right now from October 12 - October 25th! This means literally everything baby in the department is on sale! So go to your local Sears and check it out.
Can you tell I had baby girl on the brain when we went? :)

Babies, Babies, Babies

I swear, you guys...if I wasn't pregnant and due in 5ish weeks...I'd be aching for a baby right now! Melissa just had her 2nd baby girl and there's too many others in the blogosphere to even mention on here that have welcomed newborns in the last few weeks and/or are due in the next few weeks. I also have a few babies in my life and I got to see them all this week. Ladies...start your ovaries!

First up was Blake. He just turned 7 weeks old (what!?) but he was 6.5 weeks when these pics were taken. He's so alert and was fascinated by his play mat and the musical star, just like Braden was at that age! Jay used to call it "baby TV"!

Next we headed to Ben & Jess's and we got to visit Abby! She's now 5.5 months old and is loving her solid foods! I just love how expressive her little hands are in some of these photos.

Oh I love her and wished they all lived closer! My best friend Natalie had her 2nd baby on August 31 and I got to meet Reid Andrew, 3 weeks old!

I love that picture of big sister Sophia loving on her new baby brother! Makes me REALLY excited to meet Squishy in the next 5-6 weeks or so!

Are there lots of babies in your life right now too?

P.S. Pretty please keep voting for us, we're still in the top 50...but barely! Okay...I'll stop shamelessly asking now and rely on you to remember now every day! ;)

It's a BOY! Welcome to the world, Blake Graham!

Blake Graham Nelson
Error: Time of birth 0624 (oops!)
My awesome, amazing sister-in-law (who's really more like a sister) gave birth to her 2nd baby boy yesterday morning via c-section! She went into the hospital on Monday evening contracting on her own, yet was booked to have a Foley induction anyway. The catheter got her to 5 cm, but no farther during the night so at 0624 they brought Blake into the world the same way Luke came, with a cesarean. Blake and mama are both healthy and doing really well! Words just don't do it justice, so here's some pictures I snapped yesterday!

Introducing Abigail

I tell you, if I wasn't already pregnant, I would be sitting here right now probably a little depressed that I wouldn't be (soon enough!) experiencing the joy of my own newborn again! And I also particularly thought I would never want to be a girl mom. I am such a boy mom, and I know my boy mom friends know exactly what I mean. I love little girls...but I feel like I wouldn't know what to "do" with one of them. I'm all about trains, tractors, and trucks right now! But having spent a full day and night with this little sweetheart, has me totally craving a girl!

My brother and his wife are doing really well as new parents. Since Jess had to have a section, my brother has stepped up to the plate and beyond with Abby. He changes her diapers, she is in cloth - by the way!, he was keen on taking notes and asking me lots of questions, I showed him how to give her a bath and how to wash her diapers. Jess is doing wonderfully learning how to breastfeed and pump, and I'm so proud of them both.

Since a newborn mommy is so tired, babies always seem to have their days and nights mixed up, the last thing on Jess' mind is busting out her camera to take pictures. I know she wants to, but I was a happy Auntie to step in and help. May I introduce to you, this perfect little dolly babe, Abigail!
